Amniocentesis

The Amniocentesis is an operation in which amniotic fluid is received from the gestational sac in order to establish a possible change in the chromosomes (karyotyping) of the fetus which may be compatible with either the age of the pregnant woman or ultrasound findings during monitoring of pregnancy.

Biopsy trophoblast

It is recommended to take a CVS section which contains all the genetic information about the fetus. This procedure can be performed between the 8th and 12th week, the most favorable time seems to be in the 10th week.

The perception that wants the fetus to be an inaccessible entity, has long been abandoned. The notion that some congenital or hereditary diseases of the fetus are its destiny and we cannot do nothing but to interrupt the pregnancy is, unfortunately, dominant nowadays.
